How Can I Benefit from Laser Hair Removal?

Laser hair removal 12

Laser hair removal procedures have helped millions of men and women have more time available for less tedious activities than constant shaving, waxing, or plucking. This treatment offers a convenient solution to time-wasting tasks like removing unwanted hair. Before considering any type of treatment or procedure, you likely have a number of questions. How does it work? Who qualifies for the treatment? What kind of results will I have? Our team is here to help.

What is Laser Hair Removal?

Today’s lasers allow us to precisely target incredibly small treatment areas, including individual hair follicles. As you may know, every hair on your body is produced by a hair follicle. Of course, a destroyed hair follicle is no longer able to grow hair. When we repeat the treatment enough times, we will have created a bare area on your skin.

How Does It Work?

We direct laser energy into your hair, which is absorbed by melanin, the pigment-producing part of your hair. This will eliminate the hair follicle and prevent it from growing hair. The laser only targets individual hair follicles in the treatment zone. Surrounding skin tissue is unaffected by the treatment.

Would I Make a Good Candidate?

If you are in good overall health and require the removal of unwanted hair in places like your face, arms, underarms, legs, or bikini area, you would likely make a good candidate for laser hair removal. Ultimately, your eligibility for this procedure can be determined at your initial consultation with us.

Why are Multiple Treatments Necessary?

Multiple treatments are usually necessary because of the way that each follicle grows in a unique cycle. One hair may be in a given cycle while one nearby is in a completely different cycle. A hair follicle in its growth cycle has a hair present for laser targeting; one that is in a dormant cycle has no hair for the laser to target. Multiple treatment sessions ensure that we catch every hair follicle in a growth cycle so that it can be treated.
