Over 3 decades of dermatology practice have given Dr. Paul Getz, a trusted dermatologist serving Chicago, broad experience in every aspect of skin care and treatment– medical, surgical, and aesthetic.
From years of treating sun-damaged, California skin, Dr. Getz has broad expertise ranging from skin cancer surgery and treatment to advanced techniques of skin care and laser rejuvenation. He is also at the forefront of psoriasis care; indeed, he was a principal investigator in the clinical research trials for most of the new psoriasis medications now available.
Education
Dr. Getz makes a point of education not only for himself but also his patients, encouraging his patients’ active participation in their care. His commitment, attentiveness, and open communication have led prior staff and patients alike to follow him to Dundee Dermatology in the Chicago area.
Chicago Roots + California Innovation
From a childhood in Elmhurst to undergraduate study at the University of Illinois, Champaign, and a Medical Doctorate at the University of Illinois in Chicago, Dr. Getz’s Chicago roots are extensive. He remained in Chicago after medical school for the 4-year dermatology residency training at Cook County Hospital.
For the next 17 years, Dr. Getz practiced with The Permanente Medical Group in Richmond, California, internationally known for its remarkable innovations and contributions to medical care. A popular physician there, he was Chief of the Department of Dermatology and served on the clinical faculty of the University of California, San Francisco.

Now, having returned to Chicago, Dr. Getz founded Dundee Dermatology, the culmination of a lifetime of experience with the commitment to offering patients a new level of dermatologic care that combines medical expertise with attentive and compassionate care. This expansive facility was designed by a national expert in the creation of ‘healing environments’ and provides cutting-edge care across the wide spectrum of dermatology services.
