EMSELLA

EMSELLA™

Urinary incontinence can be a frustrating and an embarrassing issue to deal with. Women especially have to deal with this concern, due to the changes a woman’s body goes through. Childbirth and hormonal changes can weaken the pelvic floor, resulting in urinary incontinence. There are a few treatments available to deal with this, but few can compare to EMSELLA.

To learn more about this non-invasive treatment for urinary incontinence, consider us here at Dundee Dermatology in West Dundee. EMSELLA has been FDA approved for treating urinary incontinence in both men and women, and we have seen great results with both. Contact us today to schedule your consultation!

What Causes Urinary Incontinence?

There are a few different forms of incontinence, including stress urinary incontinence. This is when an individual experience leaking when coughing or straining in some way. After giving birth, the pelvic floor muscles become weakened, which results in loss of bladder control. EMSELLA is a great option for this form of incontinence.

Incontinence that is experienced by men is usual due to procedures such as radial prostatectomy. If the individual has undergone radiation therapy, then EMSELLA™ may not be a good option to treat incontinence. If you are experiencing incontinence, our professionals can work with you to determine if EMSELLA™ would be a good treatment option for you.

The Benefits of EMSELLA™

Besides the obvious benefit of decreased urinary incontinence following the treatment, the EMSELLA™ device in particular comes with a few benefits of its own. These include:

  • The treatment is completely non-invasive
  • Individuals can remain fully clothed throughout their session
  • During the treatment patients feel tingling in the pelvic area, but no pain
  • Treatments are only 30 minutes long
  • Results can be experienced after one session

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

Most patients will get the best results if they receive a series of six treatments. The actual number of treatments you need depending on the individual. Some see optimal results with less than six treatments. Your personalized treatment plan can be developed when you visit us for a consultation.

Depending on your needs, monthly maintenance EMSELLA treatments. You can discuss this option with our staff to see if it would be a good fit for you.
